The Tampico Stogies snapped a 5 game losing streak and defeated the Jefferson
Park Penguins by a score of 6 to 2 at the ballpark.
In the 3rd inning Tampico went on top for good as they scored 2 runs on 1 base
hits. The critical plate appearance was by Ray Durham who silenced the crowd
when he cracked a two-run shot (his 7th of the season). Tampico finished
with 8 hits in the victory.
Jerome Williams(3-9) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 innings and
allowing 1 run. Williams was helped out by Dan Miceli who recorded his 3rd
save. Paul Wilson(3-4) suffered the loss.
